Leased Line Utilization Analysis

Leased Line Utilization Analysis

Our staff has assisted over 150 health care organizations in the sales, installation and set up of AT&T Global Network Services (AGNS) frame relay leased lines the primary purpose to do Medicare beneficiary eligibility verification. This verification is done using 3270 terminal emulation for mainframe access to specific CICS regions of the mainframe. AHDS staff did a bandwidth utilization analysis of(AGNS) frame relay leased lines installed in health care providers around the country.

This is a chart of the ten (10) highest bandwidth utilization of 100 leased lines monthly average use.

For example, the highest average bandwidth utilization was 5%. This means of the available bandwidth (e.g. 128 (kbs) kilobytes per second KBS) the customer paid for a 128kbs frame leased line, that during the previous month analysis of the traffic over the line that of the 128kbs available, only 5% or in this example less 6 KBS of the 128kbs was used!

This was the highest monthly average utilization of 100 leased lines. This means that most of the leased lines are grossly under utilized.

We have niche knowledge of these lines and did an analysis of bandwidth utilization of (AGNS) frame relay leased lines installed in health care providers around the country.

This is a chart of the average bandwidth utilization of the ten highest averages of the 100 leased lines analyzed. For example, the highest average bandwidth utilizations is 5% of the 100 leased lines. This means that almost all of the leased lines are grossly under utilized.

The above are the top ten "highest" utilization averages of 100 leased lines. The average utilization rate of the 100 lines was less than 1% of the bandwidth the provider paid for and was at the lowest cost of $1,000 per month for a 56kbs line.
